Who is your ideal client?

“My ideal clients are women in their mid-twenties to early thirties, who are engaged or newly married. They are upper-middle class with disposable income or at least willing to spend money on a high-end photography session. The couple values art. They are laid-back, love to travel, and have a flare for fashion. Their favorite shops are  Free People, Anthro, and boutiques that carry their favorite small vintage-vibe brands. They are hippies at heart, eat healthy, exercise often, but also indulge in a cocktail or two on the weekends….and tacos. Obsessed with  tacos. If I could work with anyone, it would be @soojel or @the_salty_blonde.”

What are the core values in your business?

  • Being professional – From what I wear to my sessions/weddings, to how I treat my clients and other vendors. I want to be seen as classy, professional, and kind. We’ve all seen the drunk DJ on the dance floor flirting with bridesmaids, or the photographer who was rude to the mother of the bride because she was giving posing suggestions. I don’t have time for drama.
  • Being honest – Mean what you say. Don’t cut corners. Abide by your contract. If you make a mistake, own up to it.
  • Go above and beyond – Whether it’s with my packaging, welcome gifts, or how I conduct myself on my client’s wedding day (step in as day-of coordinator, grab them a drink or food, stay longer than contracted without charge to get a special shot)


What is your definition of success?

“The definition of success has changed so much in the last five years (since having children). I used to think my version of success was traveling every weekend for shoots and weddings and being booked endlessly (while making allllllll the money). But my reality is that I have two little kids who need me at home (and a husband, too haha). Success to me RIGHT NOW is being a good wife and mom first, and If I am able to pick and choose jobs with MY IDEAL CLIENTS when it works with my family, that would be amazing. As my kids get older, my version of success will chan

ge I’m sure. Liam will start Kindergarten next year and Juno will be in preschool, so the time I will be able to give to furthering my success will increase.”
